Music Generation Clare in partnership with SoundWaves presents the fourth and final of a national series of Masterclass & Concert Programmes with Donal Lunny's Atlantic Arc for young traditional and folk composers/songwriters aged 14-18 years.


We are delighted to invite applications for the Clare edition of Donal Lunny's Atlantic Arc Masterclass Programme 2022.


This will be a dynamic weekend from 11th - 13th March '22 at the Glór Theatre, Ennis and includes a Friday evening and Saturday daytime masterclass and a Sunday 'behind the scenes' technical experience followed by the evening concert with Atlantic Arc – a nine piece traditional music ensemble. 


Application criteria for young musicians: 

  • Aged between 14 and 18yrs

  • Have a passion for creativity and composition

  • Have three or more years playing experience in the traditional and/or folk genre

  • Be competent in at least one musical instrument and/or vocal area

  • Have a self-composed or arranged instrumental pieces of music/song

    Resident in County Clare

Participation is open to Music Generation learners as well as young members of the public who are not associated with a Music Generation programme

Applications open: Monday 24th January 2022
Applications along with audio/video submission closing date: Sunday 13th February 2022
Selection: Applications will be assessed by Music Generation Clare and an external advisor.
Participants: Up to 20 participants will be accepted
Fee: €20 (includes free concert ticket)
